A new 50 unit assisted living facility which contained 32 unit assisted living apartments and 18-unit memory care studios. The assisted living apartments include efficiencies, one bedrooms, one bedrooms with a den and two-bedroom units. The facility contains a main central kitchen and adjacent dining room with a bar, a theater, a library, a spa and a salon. The building is organized in 3 separate living wings with the community spaces located at the center of the building. The design of the building was meant to create a home like atmosphere for the residents. The building design opens to the surrounding landscape by incorporating large 2-story windows facing south for ample sun light in the gathering space which provides ample natural light and views out into the natural landscape which building users come to Standing Rocks Park to enjoy. The building layout was intentionally created to provide 24-hour access to a warming room and restrooms for skiers and bikers to utilize while participating in activities during times that the whole facility is not open. This building is a combination of RCAC apartments and CBRF Memory Care units. The RCAC portion consists of 32 apartments, a combination of efficiencies, one bedrooms, one bedrooms with dens and two-bedroom apartments with common dining, bar, library, salon and movie theater. The memory care is 22 units with common spa, dining room, living rooms and activity space. This facility, which is in Iola, Wisconsin, an inclusion of the community within this building was desired. A large, flexible community room was designed as a feature of the building to provide a connection with Iola, allowing others within the community to use the space. The rural, wooded site helped drive a layout to the building that afforded many of the units to have views out into the surrounding landscape.
